Caroline Robinson-18 Years Old: Engaging Youth Voters
This fall, Caroline Robison recruited a team of volunteers to write over 300 letters to voters, as well as made a video, survey, and website about the importance of civic engagement. She shared the video with her school community. The goal of her project was to increase voter turnout and civic engagement, especially among voters ages 18-29. She worked with the League of Women Voters among other organizations to distribute her survey. Throughout this project, she developed her leadership skills and coordinated nearly 20 volunteers to execute it. In addition, she learned to adapt to changing situations, especially amidst COVID-19 as pertaining to her project. Caroline did this project for her Gold Award for Girl Scouts, which is the highest award that a Girl Scout can earn and requires one to lead a project that creates a sustainable, positive impact on their community.
